this couple is the cutest couple i’ve ever seen on house hunters i’m yelling
it got better
all they wanted was a spacious home for their future kids, a big window to put their xmas tree and a staircase they could take prom pics on w/ their future kids??? and they got that!!! i’m so happy for them
something i’ll never forget is something i overheard while i was skyping with a stoner friend, lance, who lived in a little cottage on a weed farm that his dad owned (really cool guy despite that background i just gave you)
lance’s dad came over to visit and they were having a chat while my friend chris and i were still on the call but lance forgot to mute his mic so we could hear their chat
lance’s dad has a pretty notable bostonian accent and he was a matter-of-fact kind of guy who was super real. the kind of dad who you’d wanna be friends with despite their being an age gap
the one thing that he said that really stuck with me was
“sometimes i wake up in the morning and i think ‘im still fuckin here? why havent i died yet?’“
They suddenly had money, fridges, freezers, and access to a variety of foods – all things that hadn’t been widely available before. Suddenly people had access to things that were beyond the dreams of people just a 100 years prior.
Enter corporations willing to go “oh yeah, you know what’s great (now that you can afford it)? Cold beef soup, served in a glass. Drink up your beef!”
Early 40s/50s foods are something I’m very passionate about.
They had no concept of what flavors tasted good together so they tried everything. The biggest ideas that were latched on to were things like loafs with layers that compose your entire meal and the suspension of basically anything/everything in jello (jello actually helped food last longer, because the gelatin sheltered whatever ingredients were used from bacteria. So, naturally, you put a fish in it).
Also pineapple. It was harder to get before then so the sudden availability of it made people go nuts. Bananas too to a degree.
Welcome to the wild and wacky world of Aspic, otherwise known as meat jello.
So, I drove up to a stop sign, and there were a bunch of farm animals fenced in by the road. I saw a goat staring at me and decided to record a video, but I forgot my CD was still playing.
hey y’all here’s a quick tut on how to get that new fancy cursive font to display on your all’s blogs because otherwise it just looks like normal text!
(this is the font i’m talking about btw)
okay so go into your theme customize page (it’s the palette icon in the top-right corner on desktop), click “edit html”, and paste this in directly under <style type="text/css">:
the @font-face bit imports the font from tumblr’s servers to your blog, because the vast majority of computers don’t have it natively installed and so if you didn’t do that it would just show up as a standard serif font like times new roman or some shit (whatever’s default for your browser).
the .npf_quirky bit is what actually changes the font in paragraphs/whatever that have class="npf_quirky" tacked onto them (as in <p class="npf_quirky"></p>). i also set the size to larger than my theme’s usual because it’s kind of a tiny font.
anyways i hope this is helpful and have fun!
I am so confused…
My theme doesn’t have a ‘<style type=“text/css”>‘, but it has 4 instances of ‘<style type=“text/css” media=“screen”>’
Anyway, this is why is im crap at coding.
sorry about that, those are basically the same thing. put it after the first one, and if that doesn’t work, move it to the second, and so on and so forth
